Burpee lab and education staff got word today that their abstracts were accepted for the 72nd Society of Vertebrate Paleontology’s meeting in Raleigh, North Carolina from October 17-20, 2012. Scott Williams and Tyler Lyson (Yale University) will be presenting a poster on our remarkable baenid turtle locality in the Hell Creek formation that was found by Burpee expedition crews in the summer of 2011. Hillary Parks, Scott Williams, Sheila Rawlings, and Betsy Carlson will be presenting a poster in the Education and Outreach poster session at SVP about our Jurassic Journeys program at the Hanksville-Burpee Dinosaur Quarry.
The Society of Vertebrate Paleontology is composed of professional paleontologists, avocational paleontologists, students, paleo-artists and preparators.
